近期动画电影《八仙！》刷屏荧幕，让大家再次记住那句家喻户晓的“八仙过海，各显神通”。

但很少有人知道：八仙过海之前，最先停留、行善、渡苍生的地方，是山东日照。

相传八仙奔赴蓬莱渡海途中，途经日照五莲群山。当时大旱连年、百姓疾苦。本该赶路的八位仙人，选择暂缓过海，先救一方百姓。

吕洞宾拔剑镇恶龙，铁拐李跨海取水、以靴润山，也正因八位仙人和山神共护此地，这座山从此得名九仙山。除了九仙山，日照石臼的八仙石，是八仙下海前静坐议事的休憩之地；岚山跌驴板、五莲铁胡同，处处留存着八仙途经日照、体恤人间的仙迹。

荧幕里，八仙的舞台是惊涛骇浪，比拼的是一身本领；现实里，扎根日照山海的非遗故事告诉我们：真正的成仙，是向善而行、为民解忧。

What many people may not know, however, is that before setting out to cross the sea, where the Eight Immortals chose to help the people rather than continue their journey is Rizhao, Shandong.

According to local legend, while traveling through the mountains of Wulian on their way to Penglai, the immortals encountered a region devastated by years of severe drought. Instead of rushing on, they stayed to relieve the suffering of the local people. It is said that Lv Dongbin drew his sword to subdue an evil dragon, while Tieguai Li crossed the sea to fetch water and nourished the mountains with the water from his worn boot. Protected by the Eight Immortals and the Mountain God, the mountain was later named Jiuxian Mountain, or "Mountain of the Nine Immortals."

The legends do not end there. Baxian Stone in Shijiu, Rizhao, is believed to be the place where the immortals rested and discussed their voyage before setting sail across the sea. Other sites, including Tielvban in Lanshan and Tie Hutong in Wulian, continue to preserve traces of their legendary journey and the compassion for ordinary people.

On the silver screen, the Eight Immortals command towering waves and perform extraordinary feats. In reality, the intangible cultural heritage rooted in Rizhao's mountains and coastline tells a different story: true immortality lies not in supernatural powers, but in kindness, compassion, and serving the people.
